When you receive your order, you will no doubt notice a little bit of some sort of white powder residue on the edges of your gemstone's facets.
Not to worry! The gem is packaged inside a small, reclosable plastic bag for safe transport. All polypropylene plastic bags come with a little dusting of talc powder on the inside straight from the factory to prevent the plastic from sticking to itself during shipment and storage.
We don't normally notice this on other objects but gems are notorious for attracting this powder to themselves like magnets. All you would need to do is gently wipe it off your gem with a fresh, clean, paper towel or chamois. The dusting of talc is harmless to the gemstone.

Although my gemstones boast remarkable hardness, durability, and scratch resistance, they do require a bit of TLC. Please handle them with care, avoiding any accidental drops or bumps. A special note about princess cuts: The corners of princess cut gems are extremely fragile until the gem is permanently placed in a setting. Extreme caution must be exercised while handling.
