What is the Czochralski Method?
The Czochralski method is like growing a special crystal (synthetic ruby) very carefully. Imagine pulling a single crystal slowly from a hot liquid, creating a big and high-quality crystal with very few impurities.
✨ Pure and Big Crystals: Czochralski focuses on making crystals that are not only very pure but also quite large.
✨ One Crystal at a Time: It grows one crystal at a time, making them more uniform and high-quality.
✨ Precise Control: Scientists can control the growth conditions precisely, resulting in crystals with excellent optical and physical properties.
Czochralski vs. Verneuil
Compared to the faster and cheaper Verneuil method, which uses flames to make crystals, Czochralski is chosen when crystal quality matters more. While Verneuil is quicker, it may produce crystals with more impurities. The Verneuil method can produce high quality lab ruby rough. However, the Czochralski method is better for applications that demand really good crystal quality but at a much higher cost.

When you receive your order, you will no doubt notice a little bit of some sort of white powder residue on the edges of your gemstone's facets.
Not to worry! The gem is packaged inside a small, reclosable plastic bag for safe transport. All polypropylene plastic bags come with a little dusting of talc powder on the inside straight from the factory to prevent the plastic from sticking to itself during shipment and storage.
We don't normally notice this on other objects but gems are notorious for attracting this powder to themselves like magnets. All you would need to do is gently wipe it off your gem with a fresh, clean, paper towel or chamois. The dusting of talc is harmless to the gemstone.
Thank you for choosing one of my gemstones! I’d like to share a gentle reminder on the delicate nature of these treasures. Although my gemstones boast remarkable hardness, durability, and scratch resistance, they do require a bit of TLC. Please handle them with care, avoiding any accidental drops or bumps. This ensures that the mesmerizing beauty and structural integrity of your gemstone remain intact, providing you with lasting joy and admiration.
A special note about princess cuts: The corners of princess cut gems are extremely fragile until the gem is permanently placed in a setting. Extreme caution must be exercised while handling.
